MECHANISM OF ACTION 

Telmisartan is a Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker which blocks the natural hormone called Angiotensin II. This action stops blood vessels from tightening and narrowing, letting them relax and widen which increases blood flow thereby reducing the blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that stops calcium from entering the muscle cells in the blood vessels. This process reduces blood pressure. 

USES 

Telsartan AM is used to treat hypertension when a single drug is not enough. It is also used to manage angina i.e. chest pain and for cardiovascular protection.

  • Take the medication exactly as prescribed by the physician. 
  • It can be taken with or without food.

  • Potassium supplements: Salt substitutes or potassium-sparing pills (such as spironolactone) can increase potassium too much.
  • Heart Medications (Digoxin): Amlodipine/Telmisartan can raise the amount of digoxin in your blood and it can change the way your heart beats.
  • Antifungals and Immunosuppressants: Drugs like Ketoconazole, Cyclosporine or Tacrolimus can interact with Amlodipine increasing the levels of the drug in the body.

  • Alcohol: Can increase dizziness or lightheadedness.
  • Salt/Diet: High-salt foods can reduce the blood pressure benefits of your medication

PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS
