Baclaxiro 10 mg tablets contain baclofen. Baclofen acts on the central nervous system (CNS) to produce its muscle relaxant effects. Baclofen belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasticity agents, which are used to relax muscles. Upon binding to GABAB receptors, Baclaxiro 10 mg tablets cause an influx of potassium into the neuron. This leads to hyperpolarization of the neuronal membrane and decreased calcium influx at presynaptic nerve terminals. As a result, the overactive nerves calm down by inhibiting both mono- and polysynaptic reflexes. 

Usage

• Baclaxiro 10 mg tablets reduce and relieve the excessive tension in your muscles (spasms) occurring in various illnesses such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord diseases, and other nervous system disorders. 
• This improves mobility in neurological conditions.

Dosage

Children (0 to <18 years) 

• Starts with a very low dose (approximately 0.3 mg/kg/day) in 2 to 4 divided doses (preferably in 4 doses). 
• Specific dose: Between 0.75 and 2 mg/kg body weight.

Adult 

• Initial dose: Three times a day for the next three days. 
• Specific dose: It may be taken approximately 1 hour before doing specific tasks such as washing, dressing, or physiotherapy.

Side effects

• Do not drink alcohol while taking Baclofen Tablets. You should take the tablets with food or a drink of milk, especially if you feel sick when you take them.

Precautions

• Have a history of alcoholism and should get advice from your doctor before taking this medicine.
