MECHANISM OF ACTION
Telsartan 20 consists of Telmisartan which belongs to the class of medicines called Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers. Angiotensin II is a natural substance in the body that causes the blood vessels to tighten and narrow which decreases the blood flow and increases the blood pressure. Since Telmisartan is an Angiotensin II receptor blocker it blocks the normal working of Angiotensin and decreases the blood pressure.

Telsartan 20 is used for:

DOSAGE

- Lithium: Concomitant use of Lithium and Telmisartan can increase the serum concentration of lithium leading to toxicity.
- NSAIDs: Regular use of NSAIDs can reduce the ability of Telsartan 20 mg to lower blood pressure and raise the risk of kidney damage.
- Alcohol: When alcohol is used with Telsartan 20 mg it can have an additive effect on lowering blood pressure.
PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS
- Telsartan acts on the renin-angiotensin system during the second and third trimester of the pregnancy which increases fetal and neonatal morbidity and death.
- Do not use the medication if you are allergic to Telmisartan or any other inactive ingredient.
- This medicine can cause dizziness, so get up slowly from a sitting position to avoid feeling dizzy.
- Keep the medicine away from children and pets.
- Use with caution as this medication can make you sleepy.
