How does Baclofen AL 25 mg tablets work?

Baclofen AL 25 mg is used to relax muscles. This relieves inflammation, rigidity, and swelling that impact skeletal muscles. This tablet works by blocking chemical messengers in the brain and spinal cord. This helps to improve movement of muscles.

Usage

  • Indicated for spasticity resulting from multiple sclerosis, particularly for the relief of flexor spasms and concomitant pain, clonus, and muscular rigidity
  • May also be of some value in patients with spinal cord injuries and other spinal cord diseases.

Dosage

  • Primary dose: 3 times in a day
  • Maintenance dose: Should be individualized. 
  • During periodic refills of the pump, the daily dose may be increased by 5 to 20 percent, but no more than 20 percent, maintaining adequate symptom control.
  • The daily dose may be reduced by 10 to 20 percent if patients experience side effects.
  • Most patients require gradual increases in dose to maintain optimal response during chronic therapy.
